UP Film Institute this December

UP Film Institute devotes the month of December to films steeped in social reality in consonance with the observance of the International Human Rights Day that falls in December. Such is reflected in myriad screenings as follows:

UP FILM INSTITUTE WELCOMES VISITING FILMMAKER KOJI IMAIZUMI

@ the Videotheque: Dec 2 Tue 8 p.m.

Japanese filmmaker Koji Imaizumi comes to the premier state university for a special memorial screening open to the public in homage to Masanobu Fukuoka — the environment hero esteemed for pioneering natural farming or the no-till grain cultivation. The Japanese director presents his documentary feature on Fukuoka entitled “For Living on the Planet Earth, FUKUOKA MASANOBU goes to India .” Imaizumi previously made “Abong: Small Home” (2003) tackling life among the mountain tribe Igorot in the Philippines .
