Art Events in Manila and Beyond

Hello folks!

Free Expression Philippines has recently made considerable progress towards
filing a bill in Congress that would repeal/amend the unconstitutional
Presidential Decree 1986 which created the MTRCB. We recently had a meeting
with Rep. Teddy Casino and he has agreed to refile his old bill, House Bill
4080, Creating the Movie and Television Classifications Board (MTCB), which
he drafted then in consultation with the Directors Guild of the Philippines,
Inc. (DGPI) and the Concerned Artists of the Philippines (CAP). So instead
of making recommendations for HB 5903, The MTRCB Reorganization Act, we will
be making suggestions for HB 4080 which Rep. Casino will refile in January
of 2009.

In this regard we will be holding another meeting at KFC Katipunan (in front
of Ateneo) in Quezon City (will let you know if there's a change of venue)
on December 21, Sunday, at 1:30 pm. We are inviting everyone in the
filmmaking community to attend so that we can attain a broad consensus
regarding this matter.
